Northern State Relays
Miller, Milbank, Aberdeen Roncalli, and Lake Preston competed in the Northern State Relays on Monday.
Anna Schmidt of Aberdeen Roncalli won 4x400m and High Jump, and Ally Mullaney of Miller won the Long Jump and 4x160m.
Miller’s Dylan Haas won the 55m and 4x160m, while Caden Gortmaker won the 800m, High Jump, and Long Jump.

Eureka Early Bird Meet
Herreid/Selby Area swept the Eureka Early Bird Meet, winning the girls events with 152 points, narrowly defeating Linton/HMB (146), and won the boys events with 150 points.
For Herreid/Selby Area, Sophia Von Wald won the 100m with a time of 13.67, while teammate Pausha Meidinger won the 400m with a time of 1:13.47. Meidinger also finished runner-up in the 800m and Jennica Berens finished runner-up in both the 100m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles. Herreid/Selby Area also dominated the sprint relays, winning the 4x100m relay with a time of 56.62, and the 4x200m relay with a time of 2:00.31.
Leola’s Alyx Hoffman won the 200m, running a time of 31.05. Teammate Emily Hatlewick also won the 1600m with a time of 6:53.26.
Tage Buechler was North Central’s lone race winner, finishing in first with a time of 20.43 in the 100m Hurdles. In the field events, Krystal Geier jumped 14-09″ to win the Long Jump, and Jasmin Garcia won the discus throw with a toss of 74-08″.
In the boys’ events, Josh Hoffman of Leola swept the 100m (11.74) and 200m (24.58) races. North Central’s Alec Meier also won the 400m (52.41) and teammate Jaden Van Matre won the 800m (2:38.25).
In the Hurdles, Colton Mohr of North Central won the 100m with a time of 18.41, and Zach Bertolotto of McIntosh won the 300m with a time of 45.25.
South Dakota schools also swept the relays, with Herreid/Selby Area winning the 4x100m (52.84), 4x200m (1:44.83), and 4×800 (11:07.90) and North Central winning the 4x400m (4:01.59) and Sprint Medley (4:19.87).
Finally, in the field events, Brenden Begeman of Herreid/Selby Area jumped 41-02.75″ to win the Triple Jump, and Colton Spitzer of Leola threw 40-00.50″ to win the Shot Put.
