SD Baseball Recap (5/9): Garretson Rallies In Extras

SFC 3, MVPCS 2

Tate Snyder went the distance for the Chargers, striking out 9 while scattering 3 hits in the outing. Cole Snyder also hit a 2-out single that scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th to give SFC the lead.

For the Padres, Tyson Wentland struck out 10 in 5.1 innings of work.

Bon Homme 18, Parker 6 (4 IN.)

The Cavaliers had a monster day at the plate, totaling 18 runs on 15 hits. Riley Rothschadl hit his first home run of the year among a 3-hit day, while Logan Winckler drove in 4 runs on a trio of hits himself.

Landon Bares also had 3 hits in the victory. For Parker in the loss, Devin Kuchta and Seth Vanvliet connected for 2 hits each.

Garretson 7, Tri-Valley 6 (9 IN.)

Garretson put up 2 runs in the top of the 9th and held off a Tri-Valley rally to get the victory. Jayse Miller threw 5 innings for the Blue Dragons, while producing 4 hits on the dat. Teammate Isaiah Gnadt also had 3 hits and Dylan Kindt finished with a pair of RBIs.

For Tri-Valley, Carter Sorenson had 2 doubles among 3 hits from the leadoff spot.


Tuesday will be a big day in South Dakota baseball, with 30 teams scheduled to take the field.
