THE MATCHUP
Two Class B title contenders square off at the Corn Palace Wednesday night. Both teams have high hopes of securing a top seed in their respective regions and winning the SoDak 16 game to secure a stay at the Big B in Aberdeen in March. But that leads us to the question.
Why does Aberdeen still get to host the “B” every year? Why not Huron? Sioux Falls? Rapid?
HOWARD
Howard (3-0) is led by 6’7 DWU commit Sam Aslesen, who is averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds through 3 games this season. Also for the Tigers, senior guard Tyson Spader averages 21 points, to go along with the possible x-factor for Howard, junior 6’4 Jace Sifore, who has the ability to play college football in a couple of years, is averaging 6 points and 6 rebounds.
WHITE RIVER
White River (2-1) is led by Soph “Super Joe”Sayler, the SDSU verbal commit will look to launch “3’s” at a hostile pace. He’s averaging 24 ppg, while senior Colbe Scott (15 ppg) and 6’1 junior Dylan Marshall (18 ppg) can score as well. They also have 6’9 senior Daice Marshall to protect the rim.
White River does have a loss to Class A Tiospa Zina in OT, 76-77, back on Dec 18.
Should be a great game to finish the night at the Corn Palace.
