SOFTBALL RECAP (4/27): Nickolas Hits Walk-Off For Pierre

Class AA

Pierre 4, Mitchell 3

Sheridan Nickolas hit a bases-loaded walk-off single to give the Govs their first win of the season.

Also for the victors, Jenna Bucholz hit a 2-run home run, Ireland Templeton finished the day with 3 hits and Elly Broers went 2-2 with a pair of walks and 3 stolen bases.

For Mitchell, Alyssa Magee went 3-4.

Watertown 4, O’Gorman 3

Watertown scored a pair of runs in the top of 7th to secure the road victory against the Knights.

Brooklyn Gronau had a double among 3 hits to lead the way for the Arrows and teammate Jade Lund knocked in 2 runs on a pair of hits.

For O’Gorman, Karsten Schlimgen hit 2-run home run in the bottom of the 5th while Ava Tobin and Atley Herold-Stephens finished with 2 hits in the loss.

Brandon Valley 8, Jefferson 6 (8 IN)

Jefferson nearly ended the game with 3-run rally in the 7th, but BV secured the victory for good with a 4 spot in the top of the 8th.

Both Tenley Rude and Peyton Amdahl went 2-4 with 2 RBIs in the win and teammate Alexa Harms finished with 2 singles and a walk.

For the Cavs, Emma Buie lead the way with 2 doubles and Whitney Portner struck out 10 in 6 innings of work.

Lincoln 11, Harrisburg 1 (6 IN)

The Patriots handed Harrisburg their first lost of the season with a dominant victory at home.

Madison Evans earned the win in the circle by giving up just 2 hits and striking out 12 batters in 6 innings of work.

At the plate, Payton Seefeldt went a perfect 4-4 with 3 RBIs, Kierra Lubovich drove in 4 runners on 3 hits and Sara Mathison finished with a double among a trio of base knocks.


Class A

SFC 24, Flandreau 7

SFC’s bats were on fire, as the Chargers finished with 26 hits in the road victory.

Kelly Serold scored four times on a perfect 5-5 day, while Megan Aukes and Maya Nelson collected 4 hits each in the win.

West Central 7, Tea Area 0

Caitlyn Hoff dominated in the circle, throwing a complete game shutout with 14 strikeouts.

At the plate, Emilee Stofferahn hit a home run while teammates Izzi Parsons, Joc Nilson, Kaylee Olson and Hoff each had 2 hits in the win.


Class B

Gayville-Volin 17, Tri-Valley 2 (4 IN)

Tanayia Pacheco and Teresa Stockman blasted home runs as the Raiders cruised to victory. Ayla Dimmer also finished with 3 hits for the winners.

Viborg-Hurley 26, Avon 22
