Girls Basketball Daily Recap (12/12): Altenburg Leads Cavs To Victory

Class AA

Jefferson 55, Brandon Valley 48

The Cavs picked up a great win on Tuesday night, as Brinley Altenburg finished with 19. Teammate Jadyn Dunn complimented with 14 points of her own.

For the Lynx, Ava Kellenberger lead with 15 points and Alyvia Padgett finished with 11.

Washington 55, Yankton 39

Grace Peterson finished with 15 points to lead the Warriors in an excellent defensive performance. Also for the Warriors, Claire Woods passed out 7 assists to go along with 13 points, while Claire Tereshinski (13) and Josslyn Elwood (11) reached double figers for the Gazelles.


Class A

Bon Homme 74, Irene-Wakonda 36

Bon Homme utilized a 20-1 run in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Olivia Bures helped lead the Cavs to victory with 17 points and 10 boards in the win, while teammate Jurni Vavruska put up an incredible stat line, finishing with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals.

Also for the winners, Taycee Ranek pulled down 12 boards and Erin Heusinkveld scored 13.

Canton 57, Garretson 32

Shelbie Olseth and Danica Rozeboom scored 10 each the lead the C-Hawks to victory. Adi Fink also scored 10 for the Blue Dragons.

E-LB 37, Castlewood 21

Tevan Erickson scored 17 in the win, while fellow Lady Elk Kylie Ramlo finished with 13.

For Castlewood, Ella Hunter scores 8.

North Central 42, Ipswich 35

Tristan Geditz dropped 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss.

Parkston 62, T-D/A 43

Mya Thuringer (22) and Keera Oakley (14) combined for 36 points in the Trojans’ victory.

For the Nighthawks, Megan Reiner (14 pts) and Sarah Bertram (10 pts) lead the way.

SC/W 46, Hitchcock-Tulare 44

The Blackhawks took down the Patriots in an exciting battle. Liz Boschee finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds in the win, while Katelyn Schroeder completed the 16-12 double-double for the Pats.

Winner 61, Stanley County 31

Kylie Sachtjen lead an even attack from the Lady Warriors with 12 points while Ava Craven chipped in 10. For the Buffaloes, Mattie Duffy scored 23, including 5 buckets from behind the arc.


Class B

Centerville 60, FA/M 4

The #3 ranked Tornadoes dominated on Tuesday night. Thea Gust finished with a game-high 20 points and teammate Emma Marshall scored 10.

Howard 58, Chester 29

Howard cruised to victory behind a terrific performance Abby Aslesen. The Tiger finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the contest.

Teammate Dakota Spader chipped in 10 for the victors, while Emmerson Eppard lead the way for the Flyers with a 13-10 double-double.

Lyman 66, Sully Buttes 48

Brooke Palmer (23 pts), Mak Scott (17 pts) and Skyler Volmer (17 pts) centerpieced an excellent offensive night for Lyman.

In the loss, Stevie Wittler finished with 20 points and Payge Bakker complimented with 14 of her own.

Scotland 44, Menno 40

The Highlanders won an exciting victory, with Trinity Bietz (11 pts, 8 reb) leading the way in a near double-double performance.

Teammate Kyliah Biorum scored 16 to lead the contest, while Kaelie Derby (11 pts), Ashton Massey (10 pts) and Kylie Guthmiller (13 reb) had excellent performances for the Wolves.

Viborg-Hurley 52, Bridgewater-Emery 50

The defending champs defended home court in a thrilling victory.

Kendra Gilbert (22) and Charley Nelson (21) combined for 43 points on 7 threes to lead the attack. Teammate Aubree Schwartz also finished with 10 rebounds in the victory.

Warner 56, Aberdeen Christian 28

Kyra Marcuson buried 4 threes on her way to 18 points in the big victory for the Monarchs.

Ava Nilsson and Stacia Carda also scored 9 each in the win.
