Girls Basketball Daily Recap (1/2): Tea Area Gets Big Win On the Road, Aslesen Scores 30 For Howard

Class A

Bon Homme 71, Parker 27

Erin Heusinkveld scored a game-high 21 points as the Cavs cruised to victory. Olivia Bures also completed a 14-11 double-double and Jurni Vavruska passed out 6 assists on her way to 16 points for the winners.

EP-J 69, West Central 54

Kaitlyn VanRoekel (26) and Bentlee Kollbaum (20) combined for 46 points in the win for the Huskies. For WC, Molly Anderson had a game-high 27 points.

Flandreau 57, Castlewood 16

A trio of Fliers led the way in the dominant win as Lizzie Pavlis finished with a game-high 13 points, and Claire Sheppard and Lily Klein chipped in 12 points.

K/WL 51, T-D/A 38

Harley Namanny scored 25 points and Ryann Nielsen complimented with 15 points in the WiLdKats’ win.

For the Nighthawks, Kinley Spaans closed in on a double-double with 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Megan Reiner added on 8 boars on her way to 7 points.

Milbank 58, Britton-Hecla 23

Isabella Anderson hit 4 threes and totalled 21 points as the Bulldogs cruised to victory. Teammate Claire Snaza finished with 16, while Tiyanna Schott scored 8 for the Braves.

SC/W 53, Bridgewater-Emery 23

The Blackhawks picked up the win behind 14 points and 7 rebounds from Liz Boschee. Kennadie Ochsner also scored a game-high 17 points in the win.

For the Huskies, Summer Koch finished with 7 points.

Tea Area 51, Vermillion 42

The Lady Titans took home a huge victory on the road. Mara Grant finished with an incredible 15-15 double-double to help secure the win and teammate Katie Vasecka complimented with 18 points.

For the Tanagers, Chandler Cleveland led with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Brooke Jensen nearly matched with 12 points and 9 rebounds of her own.


Class B

Howard 64, Menno 27

Abby Aslesen finished with a ridiculous stat line of 30 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals for the Tigers. Ann Connor also chipped in 12 for the winners.

In the loss, Zoe Schaeffer scored 8 points and Ashton Massey pulled down 8 boards.

Sully Buttes 58, Philip 44

Payge Bakker scored 20 points to lead the Chargers to the victory. Teammate Stevie Wittler finished with 16, while Mattisen Reckling dropped 11 points for the Scotties.

Warner 40, Groton Area 28

The Monarchs put together another excellent defensive performance to secure the victory.

Offensively, Kyra Marcuson finished with 14 for the victors, while Kennedy Hansen scored 16 in the loss.
