South Dakota Baseball Recap (4/29): 2 Walk-Off Victories, Arbogast Strikes Out 12

Elk Point-Jefferson 5, Dakota Valley 4 (10 in.)

Jake Gale drew the bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Elk Point-Jefferson the victory.

Tyler Goehring was 3-4 with a walk and a double in the victory and Ty Trometer was 2-4 with a walk. Also for the Huskies, Hunter Geary had 2 r.b.i. with 2 walks and for the Panthers, Paul Bruns was 2-4 with a double and a walk.

Tea Area 1, Garretson 0

Dawson Portner hit the walk-off single to earn the win for the Titans. Portner also had 3 hits and teammates Nathan Babb (5 innings), Cam Jensen (1.2 innings) and Trevor Welch (0.1 innings) gave up just 2 hits for Tea Area.

For Garretson, Jayse Miller had both hits in the loss.

Roosevelt 6, Lincoln 4

Lincoln scored twice in the top of the 7th but it was not enough as Roosevelt’s Billy Chatwell caught the line drive in centerfield to end the game.

Gabe Stahl was the top hitter for Roosevelt, going 2-3 with 2 doubles and 4 r.b.i. in the victory. Teammates Ben Irsfeld and Marcus Phillips scored twice.

Sturgis 13, Rapid City Stevens 4

Sturgis scored 7 in the bottom of the 6th to secure the victory.

Dustrin Alan was 3-4 with 3 r.b.i. and a double for Sturgis, while David Anderson also had 3 r.b.i. with 3 runs scored and two hits in the victory. For Stevens, Connor Knudsen scored twice with 2 hits and teammate Colton Nesland was 2-4.

O’Gorman 5, Washington 1

Reece Arbogast struck out 12 with 3 walks and 5 hits in the complete game victory. Nate Sprenkle also was 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 doubles in the victory, and Teegan Schlimgen was 2-3. For Washington, Myles Rees was 1-2 with 2 walks.
