BASEBALL RECAP (4/25): Kampshoff Hits Walk-Off Home Run For Yankton

Yankton 5, Roosevelt 4

Lucas Kampshoff blasted an opposite field home run on the first pitch of the 7th inning to lift the Bucks to a game 1 victory.

Mark Kathol earned the win on the mound, giving up just 2 hits in 2 innings of relief.

For Roosevelt, Jack Radel went 2-3 with a double in the loss.

Yankton 7, Roosevelt 6

Yankton completed the sweep with a late comeback.

After a back-and-forth battle, the Rough Riders scored 2 in the top of the 5th, but the Bucks scored a pair of their own and took the lead for good on a RBI-triple from Mac Ryken.

Ryken, Kathol and shortstop Drew Ryken all finished with 2 hits in the contest for Yankton.

In the loss, Quinn Brooks went 3-3 with a walk and Jaxsen Grevengoed drove in 2 on a pair of hits.


Brookings 5, Pierre 1

Nate Lease threw a complete game for the Bobcats, striking out 6 while scattering 5 hits.

At the plate, Austin Clark drew 2 walks and drove in a run on a single in the leadoff spot.

Pierre 4, Brookings 2

The Governors answered late with a 3-run 7th inning to split the road series.

Cade Kaiser connected for a double that scored Brecken Krueger before Jett Zabel hit a 2-run double to secure the victory.

Zabel and teammate Deegan Houska finished with 2 hits in the contest. On the mound, Lincoln Kienholz struck out 14 in 6 innings of work.

For Brookings, Lease went 2-3 with a RBI.


Mitchell 8, Jefferson 5

Peyton Mandel drove in 4 runs on a pair of hits to lead the way for Mitchell.

Fellow Kernel Hudson Haley also connected for 2 hits and Hudson Borgan drove in 2 runs.

For Jefferson, Cohen Henry hit a pair of triples and Carson Hughes finished with 2 hits in the loss.

Jefferson 5, Mitchell 4

The Cavs nearly secured the win with 3 runs in the top of 6th, but Mitchell added on a pair to tie the game heading into the 7th.

Jefferson then finished the job with an additional 2 runs off RBI-doubles from Thomas Heiberger and Mason Riley.

Riley hit another double in among 3 hits in the contest to lead the way for the Cavs, while Ryan Rysavy and Heiberger both went 2-4.

For Mitchell, Dylan Soulek and Mason Herman collected 2 hits each.


Brandon Valley 3, O’Gorman 2

Daniel Buteyn was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to secure the win for the Lynx.

Tate Ivers struck out 4 batters in 2 innings of relief on the mound to earn the win for BV and fellow Lynx Tayton Stroh drove in 2 runs.

BV finished the road sweep with a 3-run 5th inning as the exclamation point.

Tayden Mitchell and Aiden Zerr held the Knights to a combined 2 hits while striking out 11, while Dawson Mork drove in 3 runs on 2 hits, including a triple, for the winners.


SFC 15, Baltic 5 (6 IN)

Jacob Sanderson brought in 4 runs on 2 hits to lead the way for the Chargers.

Teammates Jacob Docter and Cole Snyder also connected for a pair of hits in the win and Austin Connell scored 3 times.


P/E/T 17, Canistota/Freeman 3 (5 IN)

The Trojans cruised to victory over the Sticks behind a big day from Luke Bormann.

The leadoff batter drove in 4 runs on a trio of hits while earning the win on the mound.

Second baseman Kolter Weber also crushed 3 hits for the Trojans and Carter Sommer drove in a pair of runs.


West Central 5, C/C-E/F 1

Brayden Odegaard struck out 9 in 6 innings of work to earn the win for the Trojans.

At the plate, Deuce Sherard went 2-4 and Brodie Herr scored 2 runs off a double and a walk.


St. Thomas More 8, Lead-Deadwood 3

Aidan Harris connected for 3 hits as the Cavs took the win over Lead-Deadwood.

Spencer Johannesen and Holden Griswald drove in 2 runs each for the Cavaliers while Colby Konvalin earn the win with 6 strikeouts in 4 innings.
