BASEBALL RECAP (5/10): Clubb Dominates for Howard

Class A

Pierre 6, Harrisburg 1

The Govs rallied for a final 3-run frame to secure the road win.

Jack Merkwan went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and a pair of runs for the winners, while teammate Brecken Krueger connected for 2 hits.

Also for Pierre, Lincoln Kienholz scored three times in the leadoff spot and JJ Bucholz earned the save with 3 1/3 innings of shutout work.


Stevens 20, RC Central 2 (5 IN)

A 13-run 3rd inning elevated the Raiders to a win over their cross-town rivals.

Brady Bickett crushed a double and a triple among 3 hits from the leadoff spot while fellow Raider Luke Hanzlik went 2-3 with 3 runs and a pair of RBIs.

Also for the winners, Cooper Morlang and Mason Brooks had multi-hit performances.

Class B

Howard 7, Madison 3

A 4-run first inning proved to be all the Tigers needed for the win, as Jack Neises and Griffin Clubb combined for 15 strikeouts on the mound.

At the plate, Clubb drove in 3 runs on a pair of doubles and Karsyn Feldhaus scored twice.


Tea 7, SFC 2

Noah Christensen gave up just 2 hits in 5 innings of work to lead the Titans to the victory.

At the plate, Mason Schramm drew a pair of walks, while Logan Boom scored twice in the win.

For the Chargers, Cole Snyder went 2-2 with a run.


McCook 5, HBE 3 (8 IN)

Ty Morrison hit a RBI-double in the top of the 8th to secure the victory for the Burros.

Jackson Remmers lead the way for the winners with 5 hits in the contest and teammate Weston Remmers earned the save.

For the Bulldogs, Keenan Waldera went 4-4 in the leadoff spot.


Scotland/Menno 12, F/C/M 7

The Trappers made use of 9 errors and 9 hits to take home the victory.

Kory Keppen drove in 4 runs on a pair of hits to lead the Trappers and catcher Brayden Sattler scored twice on 2 base knocks.

For the Sticks, Sawyer Wipf had a trio of hits, while Luke Peters and Riley Tschetter both had multi-hit days.


Vermillion 7, Wagner 3

The Tanagers utilized a 5-run rally in the 2nd inning to secure the victory over Wagner.

Jack Vitt had a big day at the plate, going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Fellow Tanager Erik Sulzle also had a 3-hit game while Trey Hansen and Hayden Christopherson each had 2 base knocks.


West Central 3, MVPCS 1

Brayden Odegaard drove in a run on a pair of hits as the Trojans won a battle over the Trojans.

Brodie Herr struck out 4 batters in 2.2 innings of work to get the save for West Central, while Tyson Wentland had a 2-hit day for the Padres.


Belle Fourche 10, L-D 0 (5 IN)

The Broncs went home with the early victory behind the arm of Caeyn Howard.

Howard struck out 7 batters in the contest while scattering just 4 base runners. At the plate, Noah Wahlfedlt scored 3 times on a trio of hits and Howard also put together a 2-hit performance.
