Boys Basketball Daily Recap (1/4): Maaland Leads Deuel To Victory, Pierre Takes Down Lincoln

Class AA

Pierre 52, Lincoln 46

Jett Zabel lead the Govs to the big home victory with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Dawson Getz hit four shots from behind the arc and scored 14 points to compliment in the win.

For Lincoln, Tate Schafer finished with 12 points and Edison Noll chipped in 10.

Class A

Deuel 60, Webster Area 58

The Cardinals bounced back from a loss in Brookings with a clutch victory at home. Trey Maaland led the way with 33 points for Deuel and Gabe Sather finished with 11 points.

For Webster Area, Ian Lesna scored 17 and Jack Shoemaker finished with 16.

Mobridge-Pollock 62, Miller 58

M-P won an overtime thriller as Miller made a late 10-point comeback before the Tigers put the game away with an excellent defensive performance in the extra period.

Unique White Twin scored a team-high 21 points to lead the Tigers to the victorious effort while teammates Shane Henderson (16 pts, 12 reb) and Michael Wald (12 pts, 9 reb) provided key performances for the winners.

For Miller, Alex Schumacher hit 5 threes on his way to 26 points and Isaac Hunter grabbed 11 rebounds on his way to 18 points.


Class B

Gregory 72, Lyman 44

Noah Bearshield (19 pts), Daniel Mitchell (16 pts) and Lincoln Juracek (10 pts) all finished in double-figures as the Gorillas defended home court with a dominant victory.

L/FA 65, Roncalli 51

The Titans picked up a big victory behind 19 points from Brayden Sumption. Teammate Noah Kippley also had 11 points in the first quarter on his way to a 16 point performance.

For Roncalli, Aiden Fisher led with 13 points, while Keegan Stewart and Maddox Miller each finished with 12.

Philip 60, Jones County 33

Layton Terkildsen scored 17 points in the Scotties’ conference victory. Lane Kachenbecker (12 pts) and Jess Jones (11 pts) also helped lead Philip, while Kaden Kinsley finished with 16 points and Jett Nix completed a 10-10 double-double for Jones County.
