Boys Basketball Daily Recap (12/15): Panthers Duo Combines For 64 Points, Zabel Earns 21-17 Double-Double

Class AA

Aberdeen 62, Spearfish 42

Camden Fauth went 3-3 from the arc on his way to 15 points in the Golden Eagles’ win.

Also in the victory, Grant Fritz finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds while Parker Lemer chipped in with 10 points.

Lincoln 79, Yankton 44

Garry Crow led the way with 15 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Fellow Pat Tate Schafer also scored 10 points in the victory.

For the Bucks, Landon Potts finished with 17.

Pierre 73, Sturgis 59

Jett Zabel put together a 21-17 double-double to lead the Govs in the big victory. Luke Olson also had 10 points for the winners, while Ryan Heinert scored 22 for the Scoopers.


Class A

Dakota Valley 85, Canton 67

Jaxson Wingert (33) and Luke Bruns (31) combined for 64 points in the victory. Teammate Charlie Margeas also finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the Panthers.

E-LB 60, I/LP 43

Carson Griffith scored 11 points in the final quarter to help Elkton-Lake Benton secure the win. The senior finished with 17 for the Elks, while Tanner Drietz pitched in 13.

For the Sharks, Josh McMasters and Lucas Peskey each scored 16.

Great Plains Lutheran 69, Tri-State (ND) 49

Martin Krenz finished with a 20-11 double-double to lead the way for the Panthers in the win. Alex Heil also scored 19, and teammate Austin Rubendall grabbed 7 boards on his way to 12 points.

Lennox 51, Madison 47

For the Bulldogs, Ben Brooks finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Myles Schneider had with 10 points.

Tea Area 56, Dell Rapids 49

Sam Almas put together another excellent performance with a game-high 28 points in the win. Teammate Marshall Saythe also dished out 6 assists to go along with 10 points.

For the Quarriers, Jack Henry finished with 21 points and 8 boards.

Webster Area 57, Britton-Hecla 30

Jacob Keller led the Bearcats with 13 points and Jeron McCreary chipped in 12 to secure the win.

For the Braves, Ty Fagerland, Daniel Person and William Richter each scored 6 points.


Class B

St. Mary 55, Colman-Egan 49

Trevon Beckman hit 5 threes on his way to 26 points in the overtime victory. Maverick LeBrun also scored 14 in the win, while Nic Gaspar complimented with 11 points of his own.

In the loss, Jase Mousel put together a 24-10 double-double.

Viborg-Hurley 79, Irene-Wakonda 35

The Cougars cruised to victory as Nich Hanson scored 24 points. Fellow Cougar Owen Niederbaumer reached double figure points with 14, while Brady Schroedermeier (8 reb) and Bryson Morrison (6 ast) provided key roles in the win.

For the Eagles, Brody Johnke finished with 13 points.
