Girls Basketball Daily Recap (12/15): Vasecka and Grant Combine For 41 In Tea’s Victory

Class A

Hanson 70, Menno 19

Taziah Hawkins headlined a big offensive night for the Beaverettes with 19 points and 6 steals. Teammate Eliza Oltmanns closed in a triple-double with a 15-point, 7-rebound, 8-assist night, while Kylie Haiar (14 pts, 7 reb) and Alyssa Moschell (12 pts, 8 reb) provided key performances in the win.

For Menno, Ashton Massey pulled down 9 boards and scored 14 points in the loss.

SFC 50, EP-J 41

Emory Lems and Jaxyn Swift each scored 13 points for the Chargers.

In the loss, Bentlee Kollbaum finished with 14 points and Ashley Brewer grabbed 12 rebounds.

Tea Area 68, Dell Rapids 26

Katie Vasecka dropped 21 in the victory, while fellow Lady Titan Mara Grant complimented with 20 points on 10-11 shooting.


Class B

H/SA 57, Sully Buttes 50

Joada Rossow and Katie Allbee combined for 18 points in the final quarter to secure the win for the Lady Wolverines.

Rossow finished with 19 points and Allbee scored 13. Jordyn Rossow also scored 14 for the victors.

For the Chargers, Stevie Wittler had a terrific performance with 34 points.

Ipswich 62, Langford Area 53

Gabby Wald hit 10 free throws and finished with 28 points and 7 assists as the Tigers took down the Lions.

Also in the win, Kaylin Onken nearly secured a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. For Langford Area, Megan Gustafson finished with 14 points.

Viborg-Hurley 57, Irene-Wakonda 42

The Cougars picked up another win behind 20 points and 7 rebounds from Charley Nelson. Kendra Gilbert also scored 13 points in the win, and Jenna Graves grabbed 7 boards on her way to a 12-point performance.
