Regional Recap: Kusler Throws Perfect Game to Send Harrisburg to State

The Harrisburg Tigers will look to return to the state tournament after last season’s runner-up finish.

HARRISBURG- The Tigers had a dominat offensive performance in game one, including home runs from Eli Kokenge, Maddux Scherer, Noah Boschee and Teigan Munce.

Jack Riley and Carter Gronseth joined Scherer, Boschee and Munce as the five members of the lineup who had multiple hits in the contest.

On the mound, Kokenge punched out seven and gave up just one hit in three innings of work.

For Washington, Caleb Bumann had a home run.

Braxton Kusler threw a 13-strikeout, five-inning perfect game to clinch a state tournament spot for the top-seeded Tigers.

Riley collected three RBIs and hit a home run and Scherer had a single and a triple.
