Sioux Falls Sunfish (15-17) 10 | Spearfish Sasquatch (19-6) 5
The Sunfish utilized a 8-run 3rd inning to get the series ending win over the Sasquatch. Spearfish, however, didn’t quite fold, scoring 5 runs in the last 3 innings including 3 runs in the 8th, but it was the Sunfishes’ night as Zachary Kriethe got the final 3 outs for the win.
Seth Surrett had 3 hits for the Sasquatch and DH Nick Winterstein finished with a triple among 2 hits. In the win, the Sunfish collected 17 hits, including home runs from Declan Beers (1st) and Will Olson (4th).
NEXT UP: The Sunfish will host Pierre tonight in Karras Park at 7:05 p.m…Spearfish will traveling to Hastings with the first game on Saturday.
Souris Valley Sabre Dogs (23-9) 6 | Pierre Trappers (9-21) 5 (10 in.)
MINOT, N.D.- It seemed as though the Trappers secured a victory against one of the top teams in the Expedition League, but the Sabre Dogs erased a 2-run lead in the bottom of the ninth before walking it off in the tenth.
Starting pitcher Nick McCollum threw well for Pierre, striking out 6 while giving up just 2 walks and an earned run in 3.1 innings. Brenden Perez also connected for his third long ball of the year and the Trappers walked away with 13 hits in the game.
NEXT UP: Pierre will make the trip to Sioux Falls, facing the Sunfish tonight at 7:05 p.m. in Karras Park.
