Your Playoff Guide for the Upcoming NFL Postseason

This year’s NFL Playoffs are a lot different than the years before. There are 14 teams instead of 12, and only the one seed gets the first round bye. In the past the top two seeds got the byes, but not now.

Below is what the playoffs look like as of now (Sunday 8:15 before the Steelers/Bills game has come to an end):

With the Packers and Chiefs being the one seed, as of now they are the only teams with a bye. Of course, there is still three weeks left, so a lot can happen.

As you can see from the pictures the matchups would be 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5. The division winners are the 1-4 seeds with the remaining three seeds being Wild Card teams. Each division winner hosts their first game at home, so that’s why the 4 seed from the NFC, which is guaranteed to be from the NFC East, will be a home team even though they could have a worse record then their opponent.

Home-field advantage carries all the way until the Super Bowl, which will be played in Tampa Bay this year. It will be different for each home team, but some teams are expected to play in the playoffs in front of fans. The Super Bowl is also promising fans, who of course follow COVID-19 precautions.

As of now, the teams who were not in the graphic who are in the hunt for the playoffs include the Vikings, Giants, Bears and Eagles from the NFC. And in the AFC, the teams with the best chances include the Ravens, Raiders and Patriots.

There are a ton of possibilities for who makes it to the Super Bowl. Each team in the NFC has shown greatness and also some games where they are flat. In the AFC, the Chiefs remain the team to beat with the Steelers, Bills and Titans on their tail.

My pick for the Super Bowl includes the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Is that because I am a Packers fan, or that those two QBs are the MVP favorites, or even that they are State Farm buds. Who knows, but there is one thing we know for certain…Rodgers and Mahomes’ State Farm commercials are way better than Baker Mayfields’ Hulu ones.
