(4/4) SD Baseball Recap: Yankton Pitchers Dominate, Panthers Cruise To Victory

Yankton 6, O’Gorman 2

The Bucks erased an early 2-run deficient, shutting out the Knights for 6 innings. Lucas Kampshoff went 2-3 with 2 runs and teammate Dylan Prouty drove in two runs. On the mound, Sam Kampshoff went the distance, striking out 7 while giving up 5 hits and 2 walks with no earned runs allowed.

Yankton 10, O’Gorman 0

Yankton produced 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to earn the victory. Landen Loecker threw a no-hitter, striking out 7 while walking just 1 Knight batter. At the dish, Joe Gokie went 3-3 and for the second time in as many games, Dylan Prouty had 2 RBIs.

Dakota Valley 17, Parker 0 (4 IN.)

Jake Pruchniak threw a no-hitter as the Panthers dominated on Monday night. The star hurler threw all 4 innings, striking out 10 while giving up 3 walks. At the dish for Dakota Valley, Randy Rosenquist produced 3 hits with 4 RBIs, and Isaac Bruns went 2-2 with 2 walks in the leadoff spot.

Lennox 8, Baltic 2

Conner Eich and the Orioles pitching staff scattered 7 hits, successfully holding the Bulldogs to 2 runs, while Lennox drew 8 walks in the victory.

Talen Eich was also dominate at the plate for the Orioles, going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. For Baltic, Cooper Goehring went 2-2 with a double in the leadoff spot.

McCook 23, O-R/R 5 (5 IN.)

The Buros bats were hot on Monday night, producing 19 hits on their way to 23 runs. 7 different McCook players had muti-hit games, lead by Jackson Remmers, Connor McGuire, and Jackson Grady with 3 each. Braeden Kerkhove also had 5 RBIs, while Grady and Kerhove both blasted home runs.

For the Rebels, Brennon Bickett had a home run, and Kadyn Geherls was 2-3 with a triple.

West Central 11, SFC 3

The Trojans were constant at the plate all night, scoring 3 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th and a final 3-spot in the 6th. On the mound, West Central gave up just 1 hit with a combined 13 strikeouts and 13 walks.

At the plate, Grafton Stroup and Andrew Zimmer both had 3 hits for the Trojans, while Zimmer drove in 4 runs. For SFC, Aidan Strangberg drew 3 walks.

Winner/Colome 9, Chamberlain 5

Winner/Colome produced a 5-run 5th inning to secure the comeback against Chamberlain on Monday night. Ashon Klein had 2 hits at the plate, and Pierce Nelson scored twice for the Royals.
