Baseball Recap (5/3): Zerr Throws Perfect Game

Class AA

Brandon Valley 12, Tea 0 (5 IN)

Aiden Zerr threw a five-inning perfect game with nine punchouts to lead the Lynx to victory. Zerr also had three RBIs at the plate and teammates Jackson Adams and Carter LaBrie complimented with two hits each.

Brandon Valley 12, Tea 7

The Titans drew 15 walks in game two, but the Lynx drew 12 walks of their own to go along with five hits in the win.

Ryland Carroll finished with 3 RBIs in the win and Caleb Finn collected three walks.

Harrisburg 9, Washington 0

Palmer Boyd (5 IN) and Noah Boschee (2 IN) combined to throw a one-hitter in the shutout win.

At the plate, Sam Sutton connected for a home run, while Jack Riley, Maddux Scherer and Carter Gronseth each had multi-hit games.

Harrisburg 10, Washington 6

Harrisburg held off a late four-run rally from Washington in the final frame to earn the sweep.

Payton Blackwelder reached first three times via a single and two walks for the winners.

In the loss, Brekken Biteler went 2-4.

O’Gorman 5, Huron 3

Trenton Fischer threw two shutdown innings to help the Knights earn the victory at home. Fischer also had two base hits in the leadoff spot and fellow Knights Sully Schlimgen and Hunter Den Boer both drove in a pair of runs.

For Huron, Gabe Waldner went 2-4.

O’Gorman 4, Huron 0

Rylan Arbogast scattered five hits in seven innings of work to shutout the Tigers.

Brogan Moffitt had two RBIs in the second contest for O’Gorman, while Trace Wenz and Carsen Evans both had a pair of hits for Huron.

Lincoln 10, Jefferson 0 (5 IN)

Colin Lunders punched out six batters on his way to a two-hitter in the Patriots’ win.

Offensively, Brycen Mitchell drove in three runs and scored twice for the victors and Brayden Olson went 2-2 with two RBIs.

Class A

Dakota Valley 13, Canton 0 (6 IN)

Grant Van Den Hul struck out seven batters while giving up just one hit and one walk in a complete game effort.

Also for the Panthers, Drew Lukken went 4-4 with three runs and two RBIs, and Jackson Boonstra and Beau Pollema each had a pair of hits.

Vermillion 11, BAH 5

Mikey Roob and Nolan Nygren led the Tanagers to the win with two hits each. Tate Hage, Trey Hansen and Carter Hansen also each collected two walks in the contest.

For BAH, Ashton Oberle went 3-3 with two runs in the leadoff spot.

C/K/L 8, PG/DC/WL 0

C/K/L earned the road win as Hudson Heath threw a complete game two-hitter. Teammate Dakota Munger led the way at the plate with three hits for the victors.
